Aluminum’s recyclability is well-known and has contributed significantly to sustainability efforts, dragging the focus to reusability takes those efforts a step further. Recycling aluminum is indeed beneficial, as it reduces the need for virgin materials and saves energy compared to producing aluminum from scratch.
However, reusable aluminum packaging extends these benefits by keeping the material for longer periods, which minimizes the need for recycling altogether and further reduces environment impact. By promoting reusability as well as recyclability, we can maximize the sustainability potential of aluminum and contribute even more effectively to a circular economy.
According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s finding recently, reusable aluminum packaging are strongly supported. 89% of respondents said that they favored the material of reusable aluminum packaging, while 86% said that they were likely to purchase their preferred brand in reusable aluminium packaging if priced the same as single-use plastic.
Moreover, 93% of respondents claimed they would likely to return the packaging.
This marks a pivotal moment for metal packaging industry to truly collaborate, share investments and thereby share risk. When the shift from conventional packaging materials not only saves on plastic and carbon taxes, but also aligns with ESG targets while build a tight bond with your partners and suppliers, it becomes an overhaul to the system, not just the packaging.
It was also highlighted that Hualong Easy Open End has been dedicating in the metal packaging industry for canned food and non-food products for 20 years. What our can lids offer is more than a commitment to your brand, but a commitment to a greener future.
